Wendy McIntosh Holmes is serving Gulf Shores Middle as the school counselor. She is completing her 13th year as a counselor in the Baldwin County Schools. Before entering the field of counseling, Mrs. Holmes was a Baldwin County School Social Worker for seven years and a county social worker with the Department of Human Resources for 5 years where she investigated cases of child sexual abuse, abuse and neglect, and worked with foster children, their families and foster families.
Mrs. Holmes received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Auburn University in 1991. She competed her Masters Degree in Community Counseling at the University of South Alabama in 2001. Mrs. Holmes also currently holds licenses as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Bachelor of Social Work in the State of Alabama. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Academic Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Academic Honor Society, the American Counseling Association, the Alabama Counseling Association and the Alabama School Counselors Association, the Alabama Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling and the Alabama Association for Adult Development and Aging. She is married to James Alexander Holmes and resides in Pensacola, FL. Together they have 3 teenage boys, Alexander, 14, Hobie Jack, 13 and William, 13.
