As our school transitions to a high school, the Eteam/PTSO (parent group) has started discussing new traditions. The Eteam would like to start a college scholarship for the first graduating class of 2021. There is a committee working on the details. The Eteam has already started raising money for the scholarship. They are also working on plans for an Alumni event sometime in the spring. More details to come. Donations are tax deductible and can be made at any time. Just in time for a tax break this year! If you would like to make a cash donation or for additional information please contact Mrs. Battaglia at email@example.com.
12/5/16: All after school extracurricular activities have been cancelled for this afternoon and evening [12/5] due to bad weather – this includes athletic practice, band practice, ELF practice, and games After School Childcare has been cancelled as well. After School Childcare workers will be available as long as there are children to be picked up. We’re encouraging parents to pick them up as soon as possible. This is an exciting time as we plan for the opening of Elberta High School in August!! One of the first of many decisions to be made is choosing the mascot and school colors. The need to make this change is the fact that a high school in Baldwin County has school colors that are red and black and a middle school that has Raiders as their mascot. Students in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th, who will be the first students to attend Elberta High School, have nominated the following colors and mascots. The most popular colors chosen by the students are · Red & Gray · Silver & Black · Black & Gold The most popular mascots chosen by the students are · Wolf Pack · Yellow Jackets · Eagles · Chiefs or another American Indian mascot We welcome your input on the choices being voted on by our students at the end of this week. We look forward to beginning the school spirit and pride of Elberta High School.
Dear Parents: We will be having our Veterans Day celebration on November the 10th at 10:00. We invite you to help in our celebration for our heroes. This will be an upbeat event. We would like to have the names of all the veterans in your family so that we may honor them on our Hero Wall. Please send your Veteran’s name and military affiliation to school. Include their branch of service and when and where they served so we may add that information to our Wall of Heroes.Students may turn in this information to their homeroom teacher by Monday, November 7th. Homeroom teachers will give the names to Mrs. Sutherland. Please come and enjoy our celebration with us. We will showcase our students’ talents with music in the singing of Patriotic Songs. Our Raider Band will also play. Our main goal is to show our Patriotic Pride and celebrate our heroes on their special day. After the assembly we invite our Veterans to a reception and tour of our school. Let the celebration begin. Please call with any questions or suggestions. Sherri Sutherland firstname.lastname@example.org 986-8127 If you know a Veteran who would like to share during the assembly please contact me at email@example.com. Mrs. Sutherland
