I am so proud of our senior class. I am sharing this note from Lisa McDaniel regarding their experience at our school after Cap & Gown Order Day:
I just had to email you to let you know that this year's Senior Class is outstanding! It was a pleasure being at Daphne High School last week and working with this group of young people. They were all respectful and very prepared.
CAP & GOWN ORDER DAY:
Balfour was on campus on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to take orders for caps & gowns. Those of you who missed this opportunity will need to mail in your order.
When Balfour met with seniors on Sept. 5th, they covered information about all of the items in their catalog, all order options and detailed gave instructions on how to correctly complete order forms. Before filling out the order forms, please take time to read all order related information in your packet, including the pink insert which contains pricing information for announcements, name cards and discount packages. For your convenience, sample order forms are illustrated in the catalog. There is also important information on the order envelope itself. (Remember never to mail cash.)
Please note that caps & gowns are not listed by that name. They are part of the Graduation Supply Cost on line 8 of the small order form. This also includes a tassel, diploma and diploma cover. This is the only item that students are required to purchase. The cost is $79.50. There is a place on the bottom left of the small order form asking for the senior's height and weight. Please use accurate measurements because gowns are made based on this information.
Items listed on the small order form already have taxes calculated into the price. Items on the large order form do not. The tax rate of 9.5% must be added to the total price of items on that form. If you are paying with a check or money order, you can combine the totals from the two forms.
If ordering any item which will bear the senior's name, such as name cards, etc., be certain to follow instructions carefully. Use upper and lower case letters that are legible. Skip a block inbetween names. Young men should include suffixes, such as Jr. or III, if they apply and may use a middle initial rather than a full middle name, if desired. Young ladies, however, should use no initials and can place "Miss" in front of their name, as is proper etiquette, if so desired. Also remember that if you produce your own announcements or purchase them from another vendor, you may not use the school's copyrighted logo.
Please contact me if you have questions.
SENIORS AND PARENTS:
This page has been created to help seniors and their parents stay informed throughout the school year about matters pertaining to graduation.
During the 2019-2020 school year I will communicate with you by posting to the school's website and Facebook, sending emails, and texting using the REMIND program.
Seniors and their parents are asked to maintain current contact information with the school throughout the year and to visit www.daphnehs.com frequently to stay abreast of news.
Information regarding graduation can be easily accessed on the main page by clicking on the Senior 2020 Graduation Information button or the “Academics” tab and then “Graduation 2020” on the pull down menu.
Post will naturally increase as graduation nears. I will maintain a running list of important dates and deadlines for quick reference which will often be accompanied by a brief entry farther down on the page.
The left-hand column of this page is where you will find documents containing additional information. Please read them.
Feel free to email me, Ellen Marler, Graduation Coordinator, at any time with questions or concerns. (firstname.lastname@example.org) I can also be contacted by phone (251) 626-8787 ext. 21016. I am located in the library if you need to see me.
All Seniors and their parents should be absolutely certain to join Mrs. Dombrowski's REMIND group. As you know, Mrs. Dombrowski is the Senior Councelor. REMIND, a texting program, is the primary means by which she communicates news and information to you on a daily basis. She has graciously agreed to send out communiques on my behalf, as well. So, if you see anything that has my name on it, or graduation as the subject, please read it! You will find instructions for joining Mrs. D's REMIND in a document in the left-hand column of this webpage.
ALL Dec. Grads and their parents are urged to make certain that you have joined Mrs. Dombrowski’s REMIND. If you were already a participant as of 11/28, you will automatically be added to her REMIND group exclusively for Dec. Grads. If, however, you had not yet joined her group, please refer to the document “REMIND FOR DEC GRADS”, also in the left hand column of this webpage, and follow the instructions to join now. Remind will be one of the primary means by which we are able to get information to you.
Daphne High School has chosen the Balfour Company to provide seniors with all items necessary for graduation as well as other products and memorabilia. Balfour contact information will remain posted on this page for your convenience.
Seniors who participate in the graduation ceremony MUST purchase their Cap & Gown from Balfour.
