Hello and Welcome!! My name is Charity Williams. My family and I moved back to Baldwin County three years ago after 21 years away. I am married and have two children Davis and Reagan. We have many animals: dogs, cats, and a bearded dragon. In short, we have our own little farm as I like to call it! We live in Fairhope and have loved all that this community has to offer. We are thoroughly enjoying being back home and closer to our family and friends.
I was born and raised in Foley, and graduated from Foley High School in 1995. I then went on to attend the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Special Education: Collaborative Teaching. After graduation, I did as many Bama grads do and moved to the 'BIG' city of Atlanta (Go Falcons!) and began my teaching career in a Moderate/Severe Autism class at Hopkins Elementary where I remained for four years. I received my Elementary Education certification during my fourth year and decided to make the move to General Education 3rd grade for my fifth year at Hopkins. After my fifth year and getting married, my husband and I moved to Panama City, Florida where I taught one year in a 6-8 Middle School Resource Class setting (Multiple Subjects) at Mowat Middle School, before becoming a stay at home mom for two years. Two years at home and two kids later - I decided to return to my roots in education. Upon my return, I worked as a Speical Education Staffing Specialist and Resource Teacher for Bay District Schools and that is where I remained for the ten years prior to moving back home. During this time, I also decided to go back to school earning a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership k-12. In the summer of 2016, we decided it was time to move home and I began my first year back in Baldwin County and back in the classroom for the 2016-2017 school year at J. Larry Newton.
NOW - here we are!! I am very excited to be returning to J. Larry Newton this school year. I am the Special Education teacher in the Multiple Disabilities class, a Resource Teacher in Kindergarten and Resource Behavior (k-6). I am looking forward to another fun-filled year and can't wait to see and meet all of the smiling faces!
