Orange Beach High School, Home of the Mako Sharks
Orange Beach High School, Baldwin County School's newest secondary school, is situated in the heart of Orange Beach on Alabama's beautiful Gulf Coast. Currently, OBHS serves students in grades 9 & 10, with the anticipation of one grade level growth over the next few years. Our first graduating class will be in 2022. Enrollment is just over one hundred students, with expected growth during the following school years. We proudly offer 14 sports, 12 student organizations, 3 academic clubs, and a variety of course offerings to our students. OBHS is the feeder school for Orange Beach Elementary and Middle Schools. Student attendance rates are approximately 98%.
At OBHS, 62% of our faculty holds a masters degree or higher, yielding richer and stronger instructional opportunities for our students. Our Mako students are held to high standards, academically, artistically, and athletically. We participate in Leader in Me curriculum, and currently serve as the only complete feeder pattern in Baldwin County to instill the values of Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of High Effective Teens/Students into our daily walk. At OBHS, we do this through our House System, essentially offering a cohesive approach to educating our students to be well-rounded, productive citizens after high school.
