My name is Kimie Young and I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a teacher, and it is a large part of who I am. I live in Spanish Fort and I am a mother to an amazing son who is a freshman at Troy University. I grew up in Mississippi, but moved to Alabama in 1995. I attended Mississippi University for Women and received a BS in Elementary Education. I also have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been teaching for 27 years and this is my 22nd year at Summerdale School. I love spending time with my son, along with family and friends. You can’t live in a beautiful place like lower Alabama and not love the beach! There is nothing better than spending a lazy Saturday sitting near the water while reading a good book.
