Mrs. Amy Lawson

Welcome!  My name is Amy Lawson.  I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade again this year, and I am so happy to have your child in my class!  This is my fourteenth year teaching and my twelfth year teaching at Summerdale School.  I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th Grade here, and have been fortunate to have taught many students two and three times in different grades.  I love teaching, and I especially love to see light bulbs turning on in children's heads!  I also enjoy teaching Remedial Reading and Criminal Justice courses at Coastal Alabama Community College.  It's an honor to be able to service students from all different ages. 

I have been married to Kirk for 19 years.  We have a cat named Minkah Ivory, and she is our baby.  I am originally from Alexander City, and moved to Baldwin County in 2001.  When I am not teaching, you may find me at the gym, the mall, the beach, at a Mardi Gras function, hanging out with friends, or cheering on a football game!
