Dr. Wanda Logan; Assistant Principal
As an educator of over 30 years, I have come to fully understand and embellish the old proverb, "It takes an entire village to raise a child." I am greeted every morning with happy smiles on the faces of our students and also of their parents. In that moment, I realize we are a village. Parents leave their most precious child in our trust and tutalege. As I walk the halls throughout the day, I am even more reminded of the strength of our community and committment of our teachers. Children actively engaged in lessons and conversations where like sponges they soak in all they hear and see. To be given the charge of ensuring children are taught not only the basics of Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, and Technology but how to express themself and build their character is an honor I accept on a daily basis. At the end of the day, when children eagerly greet their mom or dad with wide eyed excitment as they share what they did today in school, I once again find myself humbled at the totality of the success of our "village." For me, it is the combination of love and trust that far exceeds the academics. For me it is the totality of the strength that "we" as a "village" share in the molding of our young people. It is our young people of today that will be our leaders of tomorrow. To work with children, parents, and teachers where we share the same sentiment is something I am honored to do. I am blessed to be a part of the Fairhope community where we all believe, "It takes an entire village to raise a child!"
