As school counselors at Foley Elementary, we offer services designed to reach every student through developmental, preventative education, and responsive support.  These services include:

Classroom Guidance:  We teach a series of classroom guidance lessons to every student at Foley Elementary.  The curriculum these lessons comes from "Safer, Smarter Kids," which is generated from Lauren's Kids.  The goal of this curriculum is to help empower students with self-knowledge, coping strategies, and life skills to assist them in becoming safer, happier individuals.

Small Group Guidance:  Small student groups are offered as needed for each grade level on a biweekley basis.  The groups are approximately 30 minutes.  Small student groups are a wonderful way for your child to meet new friends, to gain more self-confidence, and to develop more positive coping skills in a safe, fun setting.

Individual Counseling:  We work with students individually for a number of problems a student might present such as difficulty in the classroom/playground/bus, conflict resolution, difficulty coping to school, etc.  Referrals for students to meet with one of us can be made by classroom teachers or other school staff, by parents, or through students' self referrals.

Our overall goal is to help the students of Foley Elementary to develop more positive skills that will enable them to become self-directed learners, clear and effective communicators, collaborative workers, creative problem-solvers, and responsible citizens...now, and in the future.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child that you would like to discuss with us, please contact us.
