• School Attendance

At Fairhope Middle School, our motto is "Experience the Excellence." With the expectation of excellence, we believe in empowering all students to achieve their full potential. This means helping them become intellectual, responsible, ethical individuals who are well prepared to meet the challenges and responsibilities of life. Meeting the challenges and responsibilities of life includes students coming to school every day, because "every school day counts." Attendance is an important life skill that will help students graduate from high school, college, and keep a job. In fact, attending school is a child's first job where one's work ethic is developed.

Parents Need To Pay Attention To Attendance

Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation. Students with chronic absences, defined as 18 or more unexcused or excused absences per year, are at serious risk of falling behind in school.
