Jamari Terrell Williams Student Bullying Prevention Act
The Jamari Terrell Williams Student Bullying Prevention Act was signed into law by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey. It became effective on June 1, 2018. This new act replaces the Anti-Harassment policy that had been previously adopted by school systems throughout the state of Alabama beginning with the 2010-2011 school year. The Jamari Terrell Williams Act expands the current statute to prevent student against student harassment, intimidation, violence, and threats of violence to students off campus as well. It also specifically includes cyberbullying in the definition of harassment.
