In critical partnerships with families and communities, Baldwin County Virtual Elementary/Middle School is dedicated to empowering independent learners and leaders by proficing supportive and flexible virtual learnng environments focused on high academic rigor and innovative instruction.

    Focus for 2021 - INNOVATION
Virtual schooling offers students numerous benefits in terms of time flexibility and program customization. Along with these advantages, students also assume increased responsibility in time management, organization, self-direction, and self-regulation.

Baldwin County Virtual Elementary/Middle School provides a high-quality, academic-focused online learning experience for Baldwin County students in Kindergarten through eight grade. Our digital environment requires students to participate in daily synchronous (live) and asynchronous (recorded) lessons interacting with teachers and classmates.  Flexiblity of daily schedule and location help families live their best lives while still attending school; students can login to their classrooms for lessons and activities anywhere there is an Internet connection.  Students are mandated to attend in-person testing for all state- and district-required testing.  Families are required to provide consistant access to reliable internet and reside in Baldwin County to qualify for Baldwin County Virtual Elementary/Middle School.  Enrollment is open for students twice during the year, in the fall to begin taking classes in August, and in the spring to contine classes in January.  For fall enrollment, students should stay enrolled for the school year, but voluntary transfers are open for the spring semester.

The transitioning to virtual learning can be daunting, but we offer supports for those who struggle.  The first two weeks of the semester focuses on the technical, organizaation, and self-monitoring aspects of virtual learning.  Once those processes and procedures are solidified, focus shifts to academics.  High quality, rigorous academics allows virtual students to flourish. Baldwin County Virtual Elementary/Middle School does monitor grades as students are expected to stay on pace with their weekly assignments.  Twice during the grading period, students who are falling dangerously behind in their work are placed on Academic Alert.  Students who stay on Academic Alert through the quarter's conclusion may forfeit eligibility to remain enrolled in virtual elementary school.  Successful virtual school students take an ownership over thier educations that truy creates life-long learners.
