Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. John Carter
I was very young when I chose to pursue education as my career path. The rewards it would lend were not known to me at that time. However, as the years have gone by, I have learned that being a part of the education of young people is the most rewarding career I could have chosen. I have served as a classroom teacher, football/baseball coach, asst. principal, system wide transportation director, and principal. These experiences have given me vital insight to what it takes to make a great school.
Elberta High School is fortunate to be in such a supportive community. I have been very impressed as I have watched the encouragement this community gives the administrators and faculty of our school. We have a great team of teachers here, and our students are the best.
I received my education from Washington County public schools. Both of my parents were educators, and it was a blessing to grow up in that type of home. I’m married to Renee Carter. Renee serves as Dean of Academics for Baldwin County. We moved to Orange Beach in 2018, and we both love being a part of this great community. We have two boys; Jared and Nicholas. We have two granddaughters; Kyndal and Korbyn. Renee and I received our undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of West Alabama in Livingston.
Education is what I know, and it’s what I enjoy doing. I look forward to being a part of the growth here at Elberta High School. We will graduate our first group of seniors this year. They are going to go from here and be productive Americans.
