• Sarah Bowers comes to Bay Minette Middle School from Northern California. An Alabama native, graduating from Foley High School in 2000, Sarah left for Missouri on a soccer scholarship after graduation. While at Missouri, she earned a of Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Physical Education k-12.  She then went on to obtain her graduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Eventually, she moved to the west coast, where she spent a year working as a curriculum developer for the American Red Cross Preparedness program. A year later, Sarah uprooted again, moving to Eugene, Oregon to work at an alternative outdoor high school. Here Sarah also began attending the University of Oregon, earning a certificate in Outdoor Pursuits. The combination of her passion for education and the outdoors lead her to Utah where she worked as a wilderness guide for 4 years before moving back to Oregon to work for the same company. Then in 2017 Sarah made the move to California.  In California Sarah returned to the school sector, working as a high school Physical Education and Health teacher, along with coaching soccer. Sarah has also earned her 200 hr. Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification and is currently finishing up her National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Training and Nutritional Coaching certifications.

In her free time Sarah enjoys anything active and/or challenging. Finding and creating new work outs, getting out in nature on a new hiking trail, creating new dishes in the kitchen, painting, sailing, and of course photography. Sarah is thrilled to be back in Baldwin County and working at Bay Minette Middle School. She is excited about the upcoming school and adding her experience to an already amazing staff. Sarah’s philosophy can be summarized in one quote by Fred DeVito, “if doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.”
