• One of my favorite books is by Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God.  On the first page is one of my favorite quotes:  "Ships at a distance have every man's wish on board.  For some they come in with the tide.  For others they sail forever on the horizon..." I believe this quote resonates in my mind because I have always seen my dreams at a distance, but I have worked towards making those dreams come true. Now they are in front of me.

The first of my dreams was to become an English teacher.  I taught 11th grade Advanced Placement English for ten years at Robertsdale High School. I love teaching, and although I am no longer in the classroom, I am still teaching teachers through The University of West Florida.

My dreams have not stopped at teaching.  My next goal was to become an administrator, and now, I am an assistant principal at both Foley Intermediate and Magnolia School.  But I am not stopping here.  I am constantly working towards fulfilling my dreams, and now I am working towards earning my PhD at Auburn University.  Dreams may sail on towards the horizon for some, but for me, I am always watching my ship sail in...
