This course provides an opportunity for students to delve into human concerns that are global in nature. It is designed in hopes that students will become more aware of the commonalities and complexities of the issues facing the international community. It will give students new insights into current global issues including human rights, health care, politics, religion, international security, and roles of non-governmental organizations, economic stabilization, and democracy. Higher order cognitive thinking skills such as synthesis, analysis, and evaluation will be developed through debate simulations and the opportunity to participate in Model United Nations simulations.
