PLC: Professional Learning Communities
In teaching, PLC stands for Professional Learning Community. It is a collaborative group of educators who meet regularly to analyze student data, share best practices, and continuously improve their instructional skills to boost student achievement.
Model PLCs are some of the highest-performing schools around the globe
To qualify as a Model PLC, a school must:
- Demonstrate a commitment to PLC at Work® concepts
- Implement those concepts for at least three years
- Present clear evidence of improved student learning
- Provide data on a yearly basis that shows they continue to meet the criteria of the PLC at Work process
