Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Melanie Smith
Hello! My name is Melanie Smith and I am an eighth grade English/Language Arts teacher at Central Baldwin Middle School. I am originally from Robertsdale, Alabama. I graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1997. After high school, I went to Troy University, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and English. After college, I then decided I wanted to become a secondary English teacher. I then attended The University of Montevallo where I received a Master's Degree in Secondary English/Language Arts Education. I then taught for two years at Pelham High School in Pelham, Alabama. After teaching in Pelham, I then moved back to Baldwin County. Then, I taught high school English at Daphne High School from 2005 until 2011. While teaching at Daphne High School, I decided to pursue my Administrative Degree and Certification. I went to The University of West Alabama, where I received a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership and Educational Administration. I came to Central Baldwin Middle School in 2011. In 2011, I was also the interim assistant principal of Summerdale School and Magnolia School. I returned to Central Baldwin Middle School in 2012, where I have been since. I love it here. I am married to my wonderful husband, Russ Smith. I have two daughters; a five year old name Caroline and an 8 month old named Camille.
