Mrs. Virginia H. French
Welcome to the Sixth Grade! I am Virginia H. French, and I teach language arts and social studies. I am looking forward to my 19th year of teaching at Fairhope Intermediate School!
History:
I received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University in 1991. I married the love of my life, Ray French, in August 1992. I taught fifth grade in North Carolina until Ray's job in the horticulture/nursery industry required that we return to Alabama. We had a son in 1995 (who is now studying at Auburn University!) and I began working on my Master's Degree in Elementary Education, which I earned at the University of South Alabama in 1999. From August 1999 to May 2010, I taught fifth grade here at FIS. During that time, we had another son in 2003 (who is now a freshman at FHS!). In 2010, when the sixth grade was transferred from the middle school to our school, I began teaching sixth grade, and I absolutely love it!
Sixth graders are the best! Go Pirates!
