Bio

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama 1998.

Master’s Degree in Educational Library Media from the University of South Alabama 2001.

Graduated from W. P. Davidson High School in Mobile, AL.

I started my teaching career at Orange Beach Elementary teaching second grade. I taught there for two years before going to work in Mobile at Booker T. Washington Middle school as the Library Media Specialist. After five years in Mobile I took the Library Media Specialist position at Fairhope Middle School.  I am starting my eleventh year here and look forward to many more.

I grew up in Mobile, Alabama and moved to Orange Beach in 1985 with my husband Neal. We have one son who is married, and we have three wonderful and beautiful grandchildren.  We have one dog named Bama who is like our child.  I love to read and go to the beach.

The library media center is an integral part of the educational process.

Our goals in the library media center are:

*To establish library practices designed to promote student success.

*To guide students toward independent study skills through instruction on the use of the library.

*To offer and provide guidance to students in their reading interests and research needs.

*To maintain adequate supplies of high interest reading materials.

*To provide a courteous atmosphere conducive to learning.

With these goals we hope to develop and sustain in students the habit and enjoyment of reading and learning, and the use of libraries throughout their lives.
