Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Crys Hatcher, 8th Grade English - Regular and Advanced
I was born in Hattiesburg, MS but grew up in Mobile, AL where I graduated from Murphy High School and then earned a B.S. in Education from the University of South Alabama. I taught at Dixon Elementary School in Irvington, AL for nine years and have been teaching at Fairhope Middle since 2002.
My husband, Greg, and I have four children. Our three sons have served our country in three different branches of the military, for which we are extremely proud. Our marine is now pursuing a degree in engineering in North Carolina, our second son served in the Army and now lives in Washington pursuing an engineering degree, and our third son currently serves in the Coast Guard. Our daughter is currently working and pursuing her degree in business management. Oh, and then there is Isabelle, our adorable Maltese/ShihTzu puppy girl that runs our household... :)
When I’m not in my teacher role, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, including my parents and siblings who live in Mobile and extended family in Virginia. We are active in a local church, and I love to have girl-time with friends - which usually includes a cup of coffee, prayer time, and shopping. My alone time usually involves reading a good book, playing the piano, working in our garden, or singing along with a praise and worship CD while baking or taking care of our home.
I strive for excellence in the classroom. My heart’s desire for my students is that they will strive for excellence as well, have a positive attitude, and believe they can do whatever they set their minds to do.
