Mrs. Indiana Houston

As a child I always tried to think of ways to make a difference, give back to the community.  Becoming a teacher at Foley High, my Alma Mater, has allowed to me to fulfill  my dreams.  I have been a teacher at Foley High School since 1996.  I have taught Music Appreciation, World History, U.S. History II, Reading Remediation, and Prep Assistance English. I currently teach tenth grade English, U.S. History I , and Prep Assistance Social Studies.  I help sponsor Student Council. I am a  member of the NHS faculty council.
I have definitely learned that teachers have to be flexible.  Every child can learn.  They just learn in different ways.

The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”
