I was born and raised in San Diego, California. I worked in the San Diego city school system in Special Education for four years before moving to Alabama. After accepting an offer for my husband Dennis to transfer to Rohr Aerospace Industries, now UTC in Foley, my husband, son and I moved to Alabama. After 30 years of service, Dennis retired from Rohr as a senior manufacturing aerospsce engineer, while I continued to teach students with disabilities in this school system. Joshua, my son went to school in Foley and in high school played football as Center and sometimes Noseguard when the Lions went to State Championships. Other than spending time with my family, I enjoy singing and am a charter member of the Coastal Chorale. We put on three different show runs a year for the public. Singing is one of my favorite things to do! Come see a show!
I also enjoy working at Foley High School as we have a great staff and students! Currently, I assist general education teachers and students as an inclusion teacher in Algebra 1 classes. I have been teaching at Foley High School since 2002. I have been working with students that have disabilities in some capacity since 1981. I began as a para educator for students with disabilities and while working as a para educator I attended college full time and worked toward my teaching degrees. I have a Bachelor and Masters of Science from the University of South Alabama.
