I was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida.  I currently live in Spanish Fort.  I attended Pensacola Junior College and University of West Florida, both of which are in Pensacola.  I graduated from University of West Florida in December 1992 with a degree in Elementary Education.  After completion of college, I taught first grade in Mobile, for five years.  I was a stay at home mom for nine years before taking a temporary 5th grade position at Spanish Fort Elementary.  I have also taught 3rd and 4th grades at Spanish Fort Elementary.  I taught 3rd grade at Daphne East for 4 years, 6th grade science 1 year, and 6th grade math the last 2 years.  I have been married for 24 years.  We have three children, ages 18, 16, and 13.  I stay very busy with family activities, baseball practices and games, and daily parenting duties.  I enjoy trips to the beach, watching my children's ballgames, and spending time with my family.  I am excited to be at Daphne East.

eMints is a program that provides professional development to teachers, while they use technology in the classroom. eMints supports teachers through a teacher mentoring program, so teachers can observe how technology can be integrated in the classroom and in the use of lesson plans, inquiry-based learning, and a technology based learning environment and community. eMints also supports the idea for two students to work collaboratively on one computer. Students in an eMints classroom will work with other students to complete classroom projects and assignments.
