Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Gina East
I graduated from Mississippi State University and began teaching in Jackson Mississippi. I taught a Multiple Handicapped classroom for 3 years until I had my first child and began an at home daycare. I enjoyed working out of the home and volunteering for over 10 years. I was able to get into the Baldwin County Schools over 9 years ago as a teacher in the behavior class called Pathways. I then moved into teaching Resource for 2nd, 5th and 6th with a heart for students with behavior issues. I was able to move to Daphne Elementary where I felt at home because my own daughter attended K-2nd grade at DES. I loved my position working with the Multiple Handicapped students but I am now teaching 2nd grade Resource.
I have set up a room in the classroom facing the old playground. I have made my room into a small group/sensory room which is helpful for many students. We also have a class pet guinea pig named "Gabby" that students love and will work hard just to spend time with her!
I plan on starting a Project OUTREACH at our school to help the general education students build friendships with our students needing guidance in Social Skills and building relationships.
