Hello! My name is Kim Nolfe and I am the Gifted Specialist/Project Jubilee Teacher here at Daphne Elementary. This is my 19th year of teaching, 15 of which have been here at DES. I grew up in Texas and my family transferred to Alabama when I was 15 to be closer to extended family. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Mobile; a Masters of Elementary Education from South Alabama; and K-12 Gifted Certification from Troy University.
My family consists of my husband, Tony, my daughter, Anna Claire, my son, Ethan, and our beloved pets Breezy, the greyhound, and Charlie, the wild cat. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my daughter swim on the Daphne High School swim team, watching my son play baseball in the spring and football in the fall, and participating in the many activities we do with the local Boy Scout troop, and spending time with extended family. In the summer you can find our family in Bear Point at our family beach house; and in the fall and winter we do a lot of hanging out at the beach, riding bikes, and watching the Auburn Tigers, my husband's alma mater.
I truly love teaching and feel it has been my calling since I was a little girl. I love watching kids learn new things, learn new ways to do old things, and when they teach me something I didn't know. I tell my students that as successful individuals we should learn at least one new thing each day and share our knowledge with others. Life is an adventure and we should take advantage of it!
