Mrs. Sonja Blount
I have been an educator for 21 years. During the first eight years of my career, I taught students in grades 9-12 at Baldwin County High School. For the past 13 years, I have been a school counselor. For twelve of those years, I have been at Elberta Elementary. An old Jewish proverb describes my experience as an educator: "My teachers have taught me well, my colleagues have opened my eyes, but from my students I have learned the most."
In the elementary years, students acquire the foundational skills. Therefore, a positive learning experience is essential for future academic success. As a school counselor, I act as an advocate for our students. I collaborate with our faculty, resource professionals, parents and the students themselves to enhance the learning environment. Every school day provides an opportunity for us to learn and grow together. Go Warriors, Lead with Pride!
