Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from University of South Alabama with my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Communication in 1995. I completed my Master’s in Community Counseling in 2001. In 2005 I completed the Teacher Ready Program at the University of West Florida. I have worked in Social Services and Education for the past 20 years. I had the privilege of being Department Chair and Dean of Students at Ferry Pass Middle School in Escambia, Florida for 2 years. I was named Teacher of the year as an Inclusion Teacher while at Ferry Pass in 2010. I moved back to Baldwin county and have been at RHS serving students with special needs for the past 6 years. In 2015 I was blessed to receive Teacher of the Year by my colleagues. I am currently working on my Master’s in Instructional Leadership at the University of West Alabama. I sponsor the Students Inspiring Students service club, which is made up of students that enjoy spending time and advocating for students with special needs. While not at school, I enjoy spending time with my son, cooking, and painting. Special Olympics and the Students with Special Needs Winter Ball are my two favorite events of the school year!
