Angela Mason received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in English, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of South Alabama (Go Jags!). After working in the private sector for three years, she attended William Carey University to get her teaching certification. She is currently completing her Master of Education in English at the University of West Alabama. She is dually certified in English and Special Education.
Prior to becoming a teacher (and realizing her dream of getting to be awesome every single day), Ms. Mason wanted to be an astronaut. This dream faded because she gets carsick at fifty miles per hour; she cannot imagine zero gravity. She grew up in North Alabama and her parents still live in Guntersville, Alabama. She spends as much time with her family as possible. Although she does not have children, she loves her students as if they were her own. She has been a track coach, cheer coach, and grade level sponsor. She is currently the board game club sponsor (they meet on Thursdays, y’all!), Varsity Scholar’s Bowl sponsor, and Homecoming Maids coordinator. She is heavily involved with the school and can often be seen at games, matches, and meets. Ms. Mason believes that she cannot reach a single student until each feels as though she has invested an interest in their lives. Each student who crosses the threshold to her classroom is greeted with respect and a genuine love of learning. #CB197ismyhome
“The reason death sticks so closely to life isn’t biological necessity; it’s envy. Life is so beautiful that death has fallen in love with it, a jealous, possessive love that grabs at what it can.” —Yann Martel
