Dr. Annie Shoots

Hello.  I am a Foley native and a 1993- Top-Ten Graduate of Foley High School where I participated in the following organizations: SGA Co-Chairman, NHS, AFS, Interact, French Club, Yearbook, and band (Trombone Section Leader).

I am married to Joe Shoots, Jr., and we have three amazing children: one daughter, Zaria; two sons, Zion & Zanterius Shoots.

I am a past fellow of the Mobile Bay Writing Project, Baldwin County Digital Renaissance Leadership Academy, former Language Arts School Technology Mentor (STM), and former Building-Based Student Support Team (BBSST) chairperson, FMS Optimist Club Oratorical Contest sponsor, and Making Middle Grades Work (MMGW) school member.

I currently serve as the Language Arts department chair, FMS Leadership team, FMS Literacy Team, A+ Credit Recovery Lead Teacher, and I coordinate our Annual Black History celebration honoring Foley's Hometown Heroes.

I attend Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Foley where I serve as recording secretary, Gospel choir and Home mission president.

I am a member of Rose of Sharon, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #617.

I have been honored to be Foley Middle School's Teacher-of-the Year twice: 2004-2005 & 2011-2012!

This year marks my 18th year teaching in Baldwin County and my 17th year teaching at Foley Middle!

Every day I teach, I have the opportunity to not only enact one of my dreams, but I also have a chance to help mold the future through my students!
