Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Ashley Watley
I'm so excited to start a new year teaching at Gulf Shores High School. I have been teaching for the last 13 years. The past 7 years have been with Baldwin County. I graduated from Auburn University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education of Social Science. Then, in 2009, I graduated from Troy University with a Masters Degree in Post Secondary Education of Psychology.
I am married to Kevin Watley. We have a six-year-old daughter and a two-year-old daughter. I also have an eleven-year-old step-son. I love my children, teaching my other children, and living in Gulf Shores. There are so many opportunities here in Gulf Shores and of course, there is the BEACH. ;)
I was recently honored, to be awarded the Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction award. I was nominated by a former student, Meagan Bown. She was such a joy to have in class. It's students like her, that make my job so meaningful.
I currently teach Advanced Placement Government & Politics, Honors Economics, Regular Government & Economics, and Psychology Dual Enrollment classes.
I am a certified Digital Renaissance Leadership Teacher (DRLA), participated in the DEN Ambassador program through Baldwin Couty, and I teach ACCESS classes online.
I look forward to a great school year!!!
