“To teach is to touch a life forever.”

The calling of being a teacher is a vocation of which I have lived for the last twenty-two years. I am a third generation educator from Vicksburg, Mississippi. After graduating from Jackson State University in 1993, I began this journey of teaching at Foley High School. During this time, I attained a Masters of Arts in Teaching English from Jackson State University.  After ten years of service, I transferred to Daphne High School, and the journey continues.

I have been an instructor of English whose love for learning is my motivation. I currently teach the English 10 Pre AP, English 11 and English 11/ENG 102 Dual Enrollment, and English 12 /Dual Enrollment courses. Each day is an adventure and has been one that has positively shaped my life and readily enhanced my quality of instruction. Moreover, to enhance my knowledge and repertoire, I have recently earned my certificate in instructional leadership from the University of South Alabama. Hence, I am excited concerning the adventures of which I may encounter.

My goal is to plant seeds of knowledge, character, and compassion that will produce individuals who will be movers and shakers in society. The challenge is great, but the calling is greater. Therefore, communication between the student, parent/guardian, and teacher is highly important to ensure student success in my class. Hence, I am available for contact via email, tbrown@bcbe.org or by calling the office, (251) 626-8787.

Greatness is achieved only when greatness is expected, and I expect “the great!”
