Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Mae Laurendine
I am Mae Wallace Laurendine. I was born in SC but raised right here in Foley, Alabama. In fact, I went to school at Foley Elementary and graduated from Foley High School. Foley area has my heart.
I went to Faulkner State, now Coastal Community College, for 2 years and transferred to University of Montevallo to finish my BS degree. Later, I went to University of South Alabama to obtain my M.Ed degree and finished in 1994.
I began teaching kindergarten in Baldwin County at Bay Minette Elementary in 1989-1995. I moved to Georgia and taught Pre-K for one year until I had my first daughter. I stayed out of formal education until my girls were a little older and went back to the classroom in 2004 when I was hired here at Foley Elementary as a kindergarten teacher. In 2017 I moved down a grade level to teach pre-k, and I could not be more happier about where I am!
I am married to Patrick Laurendine, also a FHS graduate, and we have 3 girls. All three are now in college with one scheduled to graduate from University of Southern Mississippi in December 2018!
I love teaching and feel like I've been called to do it for it is my life's purpose for my career. I am thankful for a wonderful school that I call my home!
