Ms. Marjorie LoVette

Born and raised in West Tennessee, I grew up with parents that appreciated history and were full of family stories from the past.  I believe that is why I became fascinated with the history of our nation.

I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors in Secondary Education; Social Studies and Sociology Emphasis.  My family and I moved to Foley in 2005 and I have held various positions at Foley High School since that year. This school year I will teach 10th grade USI Honors (A Prep Class for the AP U.S. History Exam) and 11th grade AP United States History classes.  It has been a privilege to work with such fine teachers, administrators and Foley students over the years.

My basic motto for teaching history in the high school setting comes from Thomas Jefferson who said, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and expects what never was and never will be."
