Mrs. Laura Moorer

My Name is Laura (Johnson) Moorer. I grew up in Cross Roads and now reside in White House Fork with my husband of 27 years Shain Moorer, son Jacob and daughter Abby. Bay Minette has always been my hometown and I’m a proud graduate of Baldwin County High School. My college experience includes Faulkner State Jr. College before transferring to the University of South Alabama where I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Elementary Education in 1991 and a Master’s of Science Elementary Education in 1994. In 1997, I completed my AA Certification in Elementary Education at Alabama State University and then received my Educational Leadership Certification from the University of South Alabama in 2011.

I began my career as a teacher at Pine Grove School in 1991. After 21 years, I moved into an administrator position at Daphne Middle School working as an assistant principal for almost three years. Afterwards, I was appointed principal at Elberta Elementary School where I have worked for the past three and a half years.

I entered the field of education because I’ve always had a servant’s heart. Being an educator and an administrator is a demanding job on any given day but I’ve never regretted the choice to become part of the education profession.

I believe the most important part of a school principal’s day is making time to interact with the students and visit classrooms to see instruction. If I could help every student in the school to master one skill, it would be reading. Being a fluent reader impacts every facet of life.

I am very happy to be returning to the North Baldwin feeder pattern and look forward to meeting old friends and a new school family. It will be a year of transition as both campuses join as one school but I know that the faculty and staff have the schools’ best interests at heart and we will persevere together to make this a great year for our students.
