Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kirstin Brendel
I am excited to be teaching at Daphne High School for the third year. I am originally from Virginia, which is where I attended college. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in both English and History from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. I earned my Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in teaching English from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. I taught English in Charleston, SC for three years, and I most recently taught English in Virginia for the past twelve years.
My husband is in the United States Coast Guard, and his job is what brought us to the Mobile area. I have an 12-year-old daughter Madelyn who attends Daphne Middle School. Outside of school, I love to read, shop, travel, and work out. You will often find me running races with my husband, traipsing local parks and roads, and enjoying all that the beach has to offer.
This year at Daphne High School, I am teaching 9th grade Pre-IB English, 9th grade Honors English, High School Reading Skills, and Creative Writing. I am also the co-sponsor for the National Honor Society, the prom sponsor, a freshman class sponsor, and help coach the DHS Quidditch team.
