Mr. Knerr was born in Freemont Nebraska where he lived for 10 years. He lived in Pensacola for 10 years and later moved to Mobile, AL to go to college at the University of South Alabama for Music Education. During college he was involed in the U.S.A Symphony band, Jazz band, percussion ensemble and choir. Mr. Knerr also toured the United States with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. While on tour the Drum Corps placed 9th in the world competition.
Mr. Knerr has been teaching music and marching band for 16 years. Some of the bands he has taught include Davidson High, Baker High, Murphy High, Spanish Fort High, MGM and more. After college, Mr. Knerr became the assistant Band Director at Satsuma while also teaching 2 middle school bands at the same time. The satsuma program continually dominated marching competitions winning numerous awards. He then became the band director at North Mobile K-8. Mr. Knerr has went to competition and state competition earning straight superiors for scores. He also has had pieces commissioned for his band and played at Disney world.
His lovely wife, Jaimie Knerr, teaches art at Bay Minette Middle School. He loves to fish and spend time with his wife and their only dog Kira.
