Hello, my name is Karen Bartl. I have been with the Baldwin County Board of Education for 25 years; this is my first year at Fairhope Middle.
I grew up in Baldwin County, attending Elberta Consolidated School, and Foley High School. After high school, I married my husband, Tim, a farmer in Baldwin County. We have two grown children, which are both married, and three grandchildren. I enjoy reading, gardening, and swimming.
I attended Troy State University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and a minor in Psychology. I earned my Masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of South Alabama, and returned to complete my Masters degree in Gifted and Talented Education.
I enjoy teaching Middle School and wish to instill in my students a love for learning which will enable them to become successful, productive members of our society.
