9th Grade World History and US History 1

Originally from Spanish Fort, I graduated high school in 2010 and attained my bachelor's degree in 2014 at the University of South Alabama majoring in history and minoring in International Studies. I went directly back to the University of South Alabama to earn my master's degree in secondary social studies education graduating in May of 2016. In August 2016 I was hired on to teach US History 1 and 2 at RHS. In March 2017 I got married to my wonderful wife Jade. I have been to 15 different countries overseas including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Austria, the Bahamas, Mexico, Jamaica, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Belgium and the Netherlands. I try and use my experiences in travel to help students understand the perspectives of those on the global stage and those right here around the USA. Our world, even right here in Robertsdale, Alabama is increasingly in contact with the rest of the globe in more ways than one. In World History I aim to help students understand the global picture and how the history and cultures of different places affect us here today. Teaching US History, I also have tried to help students understand the foundations and experiences of the nation that has so often been regarded as the leader the free world. History has many perspectives, angles and versions. In my class it will be a goal not to present history through one lens, but many in order to see the greater subject that is American History.
