I was born and raised on the twin Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. At the age of 19, I left my country to further my education at the University of Alabama.
At Alabama I earned my B.S in Interior Design, met my husband and shortly after moved to Mobile, Alabama. While working in the design industry I completed my Masters in Elementary Education and begain teaching in 2009.
From 2009 to 2017 I have worked in Mobile County teaching 5th and 6th grade. In 2016 I received my seconday certificate in Mathematics. I LOVE teaching math and science, and my goal is to share that with all of my students. Students not only need to know "how" to do the math, but also "why" we need to learn these mathematical skills.
This summer I moved to Baldwin County with my husband, Clint and son, Mason. I am very excited to be part of the Newon family!
In my spare time I enjoy reading and relaxing on the beach. During hunting season my husband continues his quest of converting this island girl to an outdoors-woman.
