Mr. Kevin Wells
Mr. Wells grew up in Houston, Texas where he graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1998. In 2003, he became a certified Math teacher after earning his Bachelors of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. He later went on to earn his Masters in Education Administration from LeTourneau University (2013) and Grand Canyon University (2017). He has been teaching Math to teenagers for 8 years. He has taught Algebra 1, Algebra 1 Honors, Geometry, Algebraic Connections, Algebra with Finance, and Math ACT Prep. He currently teaches Geometry, Algebra IB and Math Studies. Mr. Wells is passionate about seeing struggling students grow in their understanding of Mathematics and develop a love for learning. He strongly believes in his students, seeing their amazing potential. He holds a foundational belief of a limitless "growth mindset," which stands on the idea that "smartness increases with hard work" (Boaler, Mathematical Mindsets), hence his class motto, "WORK HARD, GET SMART!." Each and every student has the potential to learn and excel in Mathematics.
Mr. Wells lives in Fairhope, Alabama with his wife and their three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, biking, running, soccer, hiking, carpentry, and the world of financial investing. Lastly, and especially not least, he is a passionate Christian and loves church.
