Degrees and Certifications:

Josh Eddington

I am excited to be joining Trojan Nation as a teacher and baseball coach!   This is my 9th year teaching, and this year I will be teaching Sports Marketing, Business Essentials and Career Prep.   I am a graduate of William Carey University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Marketing and Management.  Upon graduation, I was in various management roles in the banking field over 11 years, covering everything from personal and automotive finance to college financial aid and mortgage banking.

Just prior to joining DHS, I was with St. Luke’s Episcopal School in Mobile when they expanded and created a new high school in 2009.   During my time there, I taught government, economics, personal finance and physical education; and was the Assistant Athletic Director, Youth Athletic Director and Head/Asst. Baseball Coach.   In 2010, we had our first varsity baseball team, which made it to the semifinals with 8th-10th graders only.  We followed that up by 3 straight years of State Finals appearances; winning back to back State Championships the final two appearances (fastest team in AHSAA history to start a program and win a state title).  Over the 7 years of varsity baseball, we recorded 178 wins with an average of 24 wins per season, made the playoffs all 7 years, won 5 Area Championships and helped 9 players receive athletic scholarships.

I am happily married to Heather Eddington and we are proud parents of 3 boys and 1 girl; Bryce, Ty, Kyle and Mayson.  I look forward to this upcoming school year in the classroom and on the field!

Go Trojans!
