Ms. Pamela Coffman

It is with the greatest honor and pride I take in being the Visual Arts teacher for Bay Minette Middle School. I am a passionate teacher, believing in my students.  I am a professional artist and a positive advocate for the arts and education which I love.  I feel teaching is the most admirable career.  I have taught for 30 years and a graduate of Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia.

My objective in teaching is to embrace my students’ instilling in them knowledge and wisdom, character education, impacting their lives through positive affirmation bringing enlightenment.  I desire for my teaching to create an environment for the betterment of our world and the lives of others making a lasting impression.

I believe the intellectual, creative experience flourishes through nurture of relationships, love and inspiration in a safe and secure environment.  Trust, accountability and excellence of work ethic become evident through my higher order lessons and belief in my students.  This describes our art room at Bay Minette Middle School.

I believe in modeling kindness and respect.  I am a role model of “Actions Speak Louder than Words” and “Love is an action word”.

I devoted 18 wonderful years in public education in my sweet home state of Virginia in the heart of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains.  My immediate family live in Virginia.  I am blessed with three beautiful, sweet grandchildren!

I have been blessed here in the wonderful state of Alabama working for a stellar school system Baldwin County.  I am Baldwin County Proud and working on my 12th year.  Eight of these years have been right here at Bay Minette Middle in which I was the first art teacher on our campus.  I love Bay Minette Middle School and being a Tiger!

Mrs. Coffman was the 2018 Teacher of the Year State of Alabama Visual Arts Middle Level – AAEA and a part of Summer Vision DC – NAEA 2016-17.
