About Me

I am married to my best friend, a CPA at a public accounting firm. Together, we have one daughter with whom we are still adjusting!  So far, our sleep and our social life are secondary to her needs, and her "special talents" as of yet are tripping, dancing, and eating things that are not supposed to be edible.  What was life like before a baby?  Even with a toddler, I still enjoy reading, sewing, cooking, and spending time outside.

After graduating the University of Mobile, I received a B.A. in Secondary Education and received a certification in English.  I have taught 7th and 8th grades and have been on staff at Daphne Middle School for four years.  While at the middle school, I served as a volleyball coach and as Fleurettes (girls' service club) co-sponsor.  In addition, I served for one year as a teacher team leader, for two years as an English curriculum Lead teacher for Baldwin County, and for one year on the Principal Advisory Board.  I just completed my eMINTS teacher certification. EMINTS has greatly changed my teaching and classroom management style;  to learn more about how the program the challenged and changed my classroom environment, visit the "classroom tab" on my website.

At FHS, I am employed Curriculum Leader.  Instructional Coaching is a new venture for me.  I'm learning to navigate with others to foster an understanding of what his/her own pedagogical beliefs are. The biggest challenge is not to try and change them, but to meet them where they are so they can form strong, passionate connections between their beliefs and best instructional practices for students.  So far, I believe the foundation of my job is serving and maintaining patience.  I truly feel passionate about growing where I am planted,  I enjoy helping others work towards professional goals.
