Degrees and Certifications:
I received my Associates in Applied Science from Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, AL in 2006, and went on to begin my career as a nurse at DW McMillan Hospital. Later, I transitioned to home health in the rural community and fell in love with nursing in non-traditional settings. After years in home health I found one of my greatest assets was to educate new nurses in the industry. When my husband and I had identical twin girls in 2013 and a baby boy in 2017, my career focus shifted. Being the Health Science teacher allows me to work in my hometown, advance my educational skills, and make a meaningful contribution to the future of my community. I most enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, and our nightly routine of extended bedtime stories.
