Mrs. Karen Pearson
Mrs. Karen Pearson has been teaching in Alabama for twenty years, and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a master's degree from the University of South Alabama. She is currently the Curriculum Leader for Gulf Shores Middle School and Gulf Shores High School. Mrs. Pearson is a Level 1 Google Certified teacher, an eMINTS Certified teacher, and has been a presenter at the Gulf Regional Innovative Teaching/Technology Conference for many years. She is also ALEX (Alabama Learning Exchange) certified and a published A.C.E. presenter. Mrs. Pearson believes it is essential to create learning environments where students can explore and gain knowledge in a variety of unique ways. She was recognized as Daphne Middle School's Teacher of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year, while teaching ELA. When she is not busy teaching or presenting, she can be found taking classes to expand her professional knowledge or reading a good mystery, and spending time with her animals, family, and friends. Mrs. Pearson has been married for 30 years, (and counting) and has two grown children, twin boys, now 27 years old, both living in the New York area.
