Mrs. Garth Smith
Hello Parents and Students!
My name is Mrs. Garth Smith and I am the Instructional Coach at Swift School. I have been teaching at Swift School since December 2004 and I LOVE it here!
I spent my first 10 years teaching Kindergarten-3rd grades, both through team-teaching and having my own classrooms. Kindergarten was definitely my favorite, as I can honestly say that I have a BIG HEART for seeing the progress those students make between August and May!
I became the Library Media Specialist at Swift in February of 2015. For someone who LOVES books, this was a great position for me! I thoroughly enjoyed helping students develop a love of reading through the many library lessons I taught, and I also enjoyed helping students see that the library can be so much more than just a quiet place to read. It can be a place where students not only research new topics and find new books that interest them, but also participate in "Maker Space" activities that allow them to use their imaginations and think outside the box.
In August of 2018, I moved into the Instructional Coach position. I am grateful for this new opportunity, and excited to see how God will use me to help our students and teachers be the best they can be each year!
I am happily married to Jeremy Smith for 16 years and we have three beautiful children, Gabi (12), Drew (8), and Lily (5). We have 2 dogs, Max and Corky. We love to spend time together as a family-riding bikes, swimming, playing outside, going to the beach or watching our favorite movies.
