Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Jessica Law

I am one of the PreK Inclusion Teacher and IEP Chair at DES!   I grew up in Iowa and obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education/Special Education from Iowa State University.    I taught Head Start in Des Moines, Iowa for a year before moving to Lee’s Summit, Missouri.    I taught for 3 years at the University of Kansas City, Missouri before moving back into the public school system.    I taught for 8 years at the Freda Markley Early Childhood Center with an inclusion classroom.   During this time, I obtained my Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from William Woods University.    I changed courses and became a Parent Educator with the Lee’s Summit School District before making the jump and moving to Alabama in December 2014.    My family absolutely loves the South!   I stayed at home for awhile before becoming a member of the Daphne Elementary staff!

I have been married for 15 years to Josh and we have 2 amazing kiddos!   Avary is an 8th grader and Tristen is a 5th grader.   We love to camp on the weekends at the beach.   We have an amazing Goldendoodle Duke that makes us laugh daily.   I feel very blessed to be where I am at and thankful for my colleagues and students.   Our school motto is everything….LOVE.  LEARN.  LEAD.
