Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Robert Murphy
My name is Robert Murphy. I attended Satsuma High School for two years, then transferred to and graduated from Vigor High School in 1994. Afterwards, I went through a trade school and became a Master Craftsman. After several years of welding and ship-fitting, I decided to go back to school and pursue my education. I attended the University of South Alabama and graduated with a Double Major in Education and History in 2005. While completing my undergraduate, I worked as an investigator for several local and regional attorneys. Since graduating from college, I have taught in several different schools throughout our local area. In 2014 I earned my Master's Degree in School Leadership. In 2016 I received my Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership (Ed.S.) and I acquired my Doctoral Degree in Educational Administration (Ed.D.) in 2017.
I began my teaching career as a History teacher. I have taught history in grade levels 6th-12th. When I started at Saraland High School, I became a Highly Qualified English teacher, started teaching AP English, and was selected to be an AP Lead Teacher. Additionally, I became an A+ College Ready presenter, which has allowed me to teach students across the state of Alabama. I now teach 1oth grade U.S. History II and 12th grade Government and Economics.
Aside from teaching, I have coached football, baseball, basketball, soccer, track, and cross-country. In 2008, I was voted Baldwin County Coach of the Year for Soccer. Additionally, I took Fruitdale High School to the AHSAA State Playoffs in baseball in 2010. I also started the soccer program at Saraland High School and coached the boys' varsity soccer team to their first ever AHSAA State Playoffs in 2013, with additional appearances in 2018 and 2019.
Lastly, I am happily married to my wonderful wife Stacy Murphy, a Marketing Associate with American Equity Underwriters. I have also been blessed with three beautiful children Orrin, Allison, and Kaitlyn, two of which currently attend Daphne Schools. Go Trojans!
