My name is Gina McClure, and it is with great excitement and a deep sense of gratitude that I join the Daphne Elementary family as your full-time assistant principal this year.  Allow me to share a little about myself. I graduated from the University of Mobile with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching for 10 years, I went back to school at the University of Southern Mississippi to earn a Masters in Elementary Education. Since I love to learn, I decided to return to school once again and complete my certification in Educational Leadership at the University of South Alabama.

In all, I have been an educator for 22 years, and I have taught students in grades two through eight. My desire to work in school administration grew from my years of serving in the classroom and in leadership positions, such as instructional coach, school improvement facilitator and interventionist, language arts supervisor, and system curriculum leader in Mobile County. Over the last few years, I have had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal in Baldwin County at both Fairhope Intermediate and J. Larry Newton Schools. I am definitely Baldwin Proud and now Daphne Proud!

In my free time I enjoy any activity that allows me to learn new things. I love to read, travel, explore, research, and write. My interest in traveling has led me to explore 45 states and 16 countries on 4 different continents. I have enjoyed many adventures in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. You may find it interesting to know that I have an identical twin sister currently serving as an assistant principal at Daphne East Elementary School. I also have three beautiful nieces that I claim as my own. They bring joy to my life and plenty of laughter. When I am not spending time with my nieces and my family, I am hanging out with the best dog in the world named Squishy.

I look forward to working with you and your child as we grow and learn together. It is a privilege to spend my days with DES students, faculty, and staff members. Our school’s mission statement says it all… Love. Learn. Lead. As a member of the DES family, I endeavor to live that mission out each day. My personal mission statement is to serve with love and gratitude, learn from success and failure, and lead by inspiring others.
